10 April 2010... Post-10K meal

My brother, our buddy, and I have planned this breakfast the week before our event!  talk about being chubby huh?! haha..  Anyways.. I sprinted to the finishline and crossed it @ exactly 59:00mins.  My official time was 59min. 17sec.  A few seconds were added to it because I started the race in 2nd wave after the Start Gun.  It was a good jog, but I'm not going to get into it because this is about FOOOOOOD!! All I can say is that this was my FASTEST 10K time of all my 10K events.  My next goal is to break in the 58mins.. hopefully I can do it!

So back to breakfast.. We all had planned to go to COFFE CUP CAFE=) yaayeah!! but bummer.. the line was too long and we all couldn't wait! there was about 10 of us, all hungry! then suddenly our buddy recommended POTHOLDERS.  What is POTHOLDERS? shhhhiet at the time I had no clue but I'm always open to try new things.  If this place didn't have a wait time, then I'm down for it! It was just a few blocks down in Long Beach and when we got there, the wait time was about 5-10min.  Not bad as compared to Coffee Cup Cafe.. shhhhhiii Eff that!  So while waiting for our table my gf and I went through the menu =)

here's what we decided on:

Tim's Dug out -
Super Spuds w/ steak , 1 Egg ABC omelette & 1 Stuffed French(cut in half)

This was my gf's plate.  She picked a good one because every bite I took was excellent.  Maybe because I love omelette's w/ mushrooms!  What I liked most was her French toast! ohhhh wow!! POTHOLDERS French toast is right behind COFFEE CUPS.. seriously.  Taking a bite almost made me regret not getting French toast but I was kinda French toast out, but next time I come back to POTHOLDERS, I'm getting some!  Tim's Dug is something I recommened because you get a lot of everything on this plate.

Mr. Potato Head -
Potato Skins stuffed w/ Eggs, Chicken & Bacon topped w/ Sour Cream, Avocado & Cheddar

I came into breakfast with a mindset to get a scrambler or an omelette but I went ahead and got this because the name!! Mr. Potato Head.. Now this was different and I'm always down to try different dishes, so I went for it.  My first impression when they dropped my plate was "hmmm!! interesting".  So here are my thoughts.. on a scale of 1-10, I'd give this a 7 because I thought it was too potato-ee.  I really wanted an omellete or something w/ a lot of eggs and this had a little too much potato.  I thought they would be smaller potato skins or something  but this was  thick potato.  IMO, it probably would've been better if it had more eggs on it but hey it was still good and filling.  Not only did I kill this plate but I killed one pancake that my buddy gave me! haha.. I definitely got my grub on because hey.. I just ran a 10K, let me reward myself=)

The other 8 dishes on the table looked all DELICIOUS! sorry I don't have any pictures of them to post on here.  I didn't bring my DSLR, and my gf forgot her Canon PS so I had to rely on my iPhone =T  At least I had something to shoot with.

I'm off to Catalina tomorrow(4/16) and I'll be sure to post any picture of food during our Catalina Adventure!
