16 April 2010.. Catalina

I have never been to Catalina! and on this Friday I finally got a chance to visit this beautiful humble island!  Once again my gf planned a lil trip and it was a fun one!  The weather was excellent for my first time visit! It was probably around 70 degrees w/ clear and sunny skies with a light breeze.  Our plan during this trip was to walk around and to go ZIP LINING!!!

I brought along my wide angle fish eye HD video camera so I can get some footage of the ZIP LINING and boy am I glad I brought it! take a look at some of my videos on youtube that I posted links to below:

So ZIP LINING took about 2-2.5 hrs and it was very FUN! what an experience and by that time that was over, we were hungry!! A lot of the restaurants that we walked by were already closed around 4:30pm, but eventually we found one called Catalina Cantina.. so it was going to be Mexican for our late lunch/early dinner.

 Chicken Flautas

This was my gf's dish and the Flautas were good!  I love Flautas and I came close to getting it but I pulled back.  The rice wasn't all that but the beans were good!  

Shrimp Quesadilla 

When its Mexican and I'm indecisive, I'll always go for a quesadilla because I can never go wrong with it.  This was pretty good, but I'm not sure if it was good because I was really hungry or if it was good good. haha.  I've had better shrimp quesadilla's before, but this one I can't complain.  The salsa, sour, and guac made it even better.  I wasn't in the mood for steak or chicken so I went with shrimp.  My hunger was finally  satisfied =)

So Catalina was over but our day wasn't over yet, my gf and I went to Cerritos Mall to pick up some things and for dinner we got ROBEKS.  Sweeet, they have a ROBEKS at Cerritos Mall now!! I got a regular Green tea and she got a small Coffee Mocha Hazlenut smoothie.  I love the Green tea from ROBEKS, but my gf's smoothie was a little to Coffee'eee for me.
